The product not only supports standard network protocols including TCP/IP, IPX/SPX,NetBEUI and AppleTalk, but also complies with IPP (comes standard with Windows2000/XP) and the binary mode of AppleTalk. The Mini100u utilizes Windows 2000/XP's built-in printing protocol called "IPP" to enable printing via intranets and the Internet.
[Merits of IPP Compatibility]
Sending a document to a remote user over a network usually requires the sender to attach the document to an e-mail message and send it to the other party. In this scheme, the recipient must also open and print out the attached file. If the receiver has a printer with IPP support, on the other hand, the sender can directly print the document on the receiver's printer. In other words, the new scheme:
- Frees the receiving party from the need to open and print out an attachment
- Saves the trouble of starting a PC just to receive and print out the file
- Directly provides a printed copy of the document to the recipient, whether or not the receiver has the software the sending party used to prepare the document.

the supplied configuration utility for Windows. Furthermore, the product supports SNMP and reduces management
